Technospark Paper presentation competition was an online event organized on 29th May and 30th May 2020. This event was main highlight in the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown situation which provide platform for students and researchers to showcase their research work and communication and presentation skill. About 42 groups presented their thesis and project research work through online mode and grab this golden opportunity. Selected research papers will be published in international journal with ISSN. Winner for this event was Rutuja Chaudhari from PCCOE and Runner up was Sanjay Gaikwad from KIT College, Kolhapur. Overall this event was very helpful for all participants to enhance their knowledge, presentation and communication skill.

Mr. Amitabh Patni, (Co-founder at Stalwart BIM Studio) A guest session was held by the Department of Civil, to enhance the software skills of the students. Mr. Amitabh Patni, Co-founder at Stalwart BIM Studio, introduced the BIM Model and Revit Model. He explained in detail the benefits of handling the software. The future scope of BIM in the field of civil engineering was also shared and inspired us to gain more knowledge of this new method. This session turned out to be a major guidance for students to adapt to new technological advancements in the field of civil engineering.

Description:

Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. A small step towards making our surroundings green was taken on 13th August at Dehu-road Police station. Number of saplings was planted in the backyard of the station of different trees. Teams of various police officers with our dedicated students were made to distribute the saplings throughout the area. Saplings of trees like mango, neem, awala fruit and lemons. This step for ensuring a greener environment for the future generations was appreciated by the highly ranked police officers and they ensured us that good care will be taken of the newly planted saplings.

Description:

Neeri(Environmental Engineering Research Institute) located at Nagpur was an educational tour organized by airways on 20 & 21 of September 2019. This tour was organized to increase the knowledge and to understand the scope in Environmental Studies & Research. About 70 students visited and gained knowledge about it. National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) is a research institute created and funded by the Government of India. It was established in Nagpur in 1958 with focus on water supply, sewage disposal, and communicable diseases and to some extent on industrial pollution and occupational diseases found common in post-independent India. This visit was really helpful and we all gained a lot of knowledge and inspiration to look further in this field.

Constro visit was organized on 17 th January 2020. Constro Pune is one of the biggest shows of building materials, methods and machinery under one roof. The event unleashes multiple business opportunities to participate in as a result of shared know-how during the event. It is an information hub of rapid developments in the industry and also a launch-pad for many new services and technologies in the Construction Industry. About 85 students visited this Constro. This visit gave a huge knowledge including design & drawing aids, automation products, office equipment, furniture, computers, software packages, surveying & leveling instruments, construction materials, chemical additives, sealants, finishes, sanitation, water supply, landscaping, fountains, transportation, power generation, power transmission, Construction & allied, non-conventional energy & energy conservation, material testing equipments, water resource management etc.

As geological studies are an integral part of any civil engineering project, the visit has invoked our interest in the subject and we got an opportunity to witness a rare collection of minerals and rocks housed in the museum.It was scheduled on 1st february 2020. ‘Gargoti’ The Mineral Museum is located at 32 kms from Nashik on Nashik-Shirdi highway in a small bustling town of Sinnar in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Sinnar is located at 19.85°N 74.0°E. It has an average elevation of 651.4 metres (2135 feet). Sinnar is one of the major industrial zones of Malegaon (MIDC) built around the city of Nashik which has multiple international production companies. The objective of visit was: To understand the natural process of formation of minerals and rocks. To understand the stratigraphy of Maharashtra- “The Deccan Traps” which is one of the largest continental flood basalt provinces on earth. To identify the main rock forming minerals of the earth crust.

Description:

The students of BE Civil Engineering, Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Research Ravet, Pune visited sewage treatment plant on 20th Sep 2019 at 10:30 AM. The first sewage treatment plant of its kind producing biogas based Power and Hydro Power. The capacity of the treatment plant is 30 MLD which runs on Modern SBR technology with power generation at Akurdi. The visit was very informative. Mr. Rahul Sawate sir explained the working of sewage treatment plant. Students studied and observed the working of sewage treatment plant which is completely automated and operated with very less manpower. Conventional SBR is improved by introducing Combi-Treat Unit ahead of CLSBR (Constant Level SBR) Unit to generate power from Bio-gas and to reduce organic load in CLSBR basins. I-SBR technology has potential to generate power from two sources: Power from Biogas through Combi-Treat unit by providing Bio-Gas engines, and Power from Hydraulic head available for treated sewage while flowing to discharge.

Teacher's day was celebrated with great joy & enthusiasm on 5th September, 2019. Teacher's Day was celebrated on account of the birthday of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an educationist, and also the vice president of India. A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning. Civil Engineering Student Association is always trying to follow Indian culture and spiritual path. It was great day for all students as we were thankful, showing our gratitude towards all our teachers. Honorable principal Dr. Harish Tiwari was Chief Guest for this event. It was a small event in which we arranged some games for Teachers in which they participated with great enthusiasm. Student coordinators expressed themselves through speeches and poems. Overall, this program resulted in strengthening the strong bond between students and faculty members.
